Marco Materazzi has noted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is “not Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo,” despite his belief that he is the greatest football player of all time.

Throughout his playing career, the mysterious Swedish striker never lacked confidence, and he was always ready to brag about his abilities to anyone who would listen. Ibrahimovic’s impressive collection of significant honors provided ample evidence to back up his claims.

In addition to winning trophies in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, and England, the former forward for Ajax, Juventus, Inter, AC Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United also played in Major League Soccer (MLS) with the LA Galaxy, the same division that Argentine sensation Lionel Messi currently plays for at Inter Miami.

Former Inter teammate Materazzi has explained to SempreInter why the famous player is not the greatest of all time, despite Ibrahimovic’s constant claims to be a sporting “god”: He believes he was the world’s top player. I don’t think so. But in my opinion, he is a huge player. He has a long history of scoring goals.

“He has won a lot of titles, though perhaps not the most significant ones because he lost World Cups, European Championships, and Champions Leagues, but he did win maybe 20 Scudetti.” He is a crack; he is a huge player. However, he is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, not Ronaldo or Messi. However, in the future, everyone will be aware of him.

Since he currently holds an advisory position at AC Milan, Ibrahimovic is still in the spotlight. Even though he did not rank in the top tier of players on that list, he will be recognized as one of the greatest to have ever played the game and continued to play into his 40s, just as Ronaldo is getting ready to do.
