Xavi Targets Barça Stars for Juve

Juventus is struggling and in a precarious situation, and Xavi Hernández is being linked more and more to taking over as manager. The team is currently 16 points behind leaders SSC Napoli in the competition for the “Scudetto,” well short of the goals established at the start of the season. Thiago Motta’s job is in danger because of this concerning gap, and there are whispers that he may be fired.

The team is falling short of expectations after making a significant summer investment to strengthen the team, as they have only won seven games in Serie A. Hernández has emerged as a formidable possibility to take over as manager at Allianz Stadium, and Juventus is already in negotiations with other management contenders. According to reports, he has already asked to bolster the team twice, starting with Alejandro Balde.

The ‘Vecchia Signora’ have struggled at left-back, and if Andrea Cambiaso’s move to Pep Guardiola’s man city goes through, things could become worse and they’ll need to find a new expert in that position. Balde, a prolific player for Barcelona, has emerged as a top target. Despite being a consistent starter under Hans-Dieter Flick, his defensive errors and physical conditioning problems have caused him to lose the German manager’s trust.

Deco and Joan Laporta have been told to look for a new left-wing player because the Spanish international may leave Camp Nou, especially if they receive offers higher than €55 million. Reuniting with his former protégé, whom he promoted to a starting position, would excite Hernández, who moved Jordi Alba to the bench. In addition, he is eager to add Ferran Torres.

Once a favorite of Hernández’s, Torres saw a lot of playing time while being coached by him, and Hernández frequently stood up for him when he was criticized. It’s important to remember that in January 2022, Hernández had a key role in negotiating Torres’ transfer from Mateu Alemany.

Ferran’s contract expires in just over a year, and there are no intentions to discuss an extension, thus Barcelona is unlikely to stop him from joining Juventus or any other team.

Balde might accompany Torres on his Italian adventure, and Torres would be amenable to moving to Juventus with Xavi.
