Real Madrid need to stop their obsession with Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid's obsession with Kylian Mbappe may lead to their downfall

(Football News) The saga between Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe just doesn’t seem to end. There are so many angles to the whole thing that predicting the outcome is very difficult. It is no secret that Real Madrid rate Kylian Mbappe and desperately want him. However, it is very unclear whether Mbappe wants the same, especially after his recent comments saying that PSG is the only option for him at the moment. Real Madrid by the looks of it are putting all their eggs in the Kylian Mbappe basket which is an incredibly risky thing to do especially after the departure of club legend and Ballon d’Or holder Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid at this moment in time have only three attacking players. Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo elevated their game last season to show that they can lead Los Blancos’ attack. The other player is Brahim Diaz who has returned from his 3-year spell at AC Milan. He has replaced Marco Asensio who was objectively a better player than him.

Brahim wasn’t too impressive at Milan but Madrid have decided to give him a go because he is likely to be a substitute player. Joselu’s deal is almost done and should be announced next week. He had an incredible season with Espanyol but Joselu is a replacement for Mariano as a backup striker. He isn’t good enough to be Real Madrid’s main striker but he could become that.

There is no guarantee that Kylian Mbappe will come to Real Madrid so Los Blancos need to look elsewhere. The Meringues are hesitant to spend money on Harry Kane because it might affect the Mbappe deal. Recent reports claim that Carlo Ancelotti is unhappy because he was promised elite signings in attack. If Real Madrid don’t sign anyone significant then Carlo Ancelotti may rethink about the Brazil job instead of staying in Madrid another year with a subpar squad. If Real Madrid do fail to sign an elite attacker and have a bad season, Ancelotti’s legacy at club level will have a bad ending.
