After Real Madrid cooled off their interest in Kai Havertz, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are in the race to sign him

(Football news) Arsenal may have missed out on the league title last season but it was a massive step forward. Now they need to develop their young squad even further to keep improving. Arsenal are in active talks with West Ham to sign Declan Rice who would be a great addition to their side. The other player on the list is Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. In a truly embarrassing season for Chelsea, Havertz was one of the better players. Chelsea are reportedly asking for £75 which Arsenal consider too much but talks are expected to continue. Chelsea are in the middle of a squad revamp and they need to sell players so losing Havertz won’t be the worst thing.

A couple of weeks ago Kai Havertz was said to be on Real Madrid’s list. However, Los Blancos pulled out of the deal because of the price tag. Arsenal do need reinforcements in their attack and Kai Havertz could be a good addition. He is very flexible and can play on either wing and as a number 10. His best position is still not clear as he can do a bit of everything. Mikel Arteta could make him into a very potent player in the attack. He offers something that none of the Arsenal attackers possess.

Bayern Munich is also reportedly interested in bringing him back to Germany. Havertz’s Chelsea career hasn’t gone particularly well but at Bayer Leverkusen, he was a menace. Bayern Munich desperately need a striker and Havertz could fill that role. Arsenal at this moment in time look well positioned because he has been living in London for a while now. It also depends on how much money Arsenal are left after signing Declan Rice if it happens. Granit Xhaka is one of the players who is on his way out and there could be others to follow.
