(Football news) Erik ten Hag is apparently looking for another midfielder this summer after successfully securing the transfer of Mason Mount from Chelsea for an initial payment of £55 million. Sofyan Amrabat is the next midfield target for Manchester United.

Amrabat, a Moroccan player, was a target for United in the January transfer window. The 26-year-old could reportedly be made available this summer for just £30 million, which has the Old Trafford club interested as they overhaul their midfield.

Although Amrabat is the subject of first United courtship, according to The Independent, a transfer for the World Cup standout would apparently hinge on sales.

After letting David de Gea leave at the end of his contract, the report indicates that Erik ten Hag’s top objective is to sign a custodian. The club has already made two bids for Inter’s Andre Onana. According to the Guardian, there is hope that a deal will be made for the Cameroonian, who played for Ajax and was coached by Ten Hag.

The custodian position is United’s next top priority, with Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta considered the most practical candidate. And should United be able to afford both players, Ten Hag will look to strengthen his midfield.

The Independent further asserted that the market is currently closed due to a number of causes, including Saudi Pro League funding that is driving up costs and plans. The current impasse in the fiercely competitive market for a No. 9 has been made worse by United’s protracted difficulty in offloading players.
