Prior to the Wimbledon 2025 draw, there was just one thing that was definite, similar to the French Open: the final was the only way for top-seeded Jannik Sinner and second-seeded Carlos Alcaraz to meet.  Beyond that, there were still a lot of unanswered concerns regarding the possible careers of these two celebrities and, most significantly, Novak Djokovic’s ranking of sixth.

Djokovic, who is vying for his 25th Grand Slam trophy, appears to be off to a manageable start, giving him time to improve his technique before the difficult matches begin.  He will face Frenchman Alexandre Muller in the opening round, and then a British wildcard, either Evans or Clarke, in the second round.  The dynamic 11th-ranked Alex de Minaur may then face off in a potentially thrilling round of 16 matchup.

Most importantly, Djokovic avoids a cruel run of straight matches against the top three players.  A quarterfinal matchup with fourth-seeded Jack Draper of Britain, however, appears to be a formidable obstacle.  If Draper falters under duress, Jacub Mensik (15th) or Alexander Bublik (28th) are prepared to challenge the “Djoker.”  Notably, Mensik has a victory over Djokovic, having defeated him in Miami to win his largest career trophy.
