(Cricket news) After the last game against South Africa women was rained out, India women are guaranteed to finish on top of the group. They have a game against the West Indies women and the women in blue will be looking to continue the momentum going into the series final and subsequently the T20 World Cup. India still need to fix their strike rate with the bat in the powerplay. Bowling at the death has always been an issue for India and that aspect hasn’t been tested in the tournament so far. West Indies will be looking to end a disappointing series with a consolation win.

India women possible playing XI:

Yastika Bhatia (wk), Smriti Mandhana, Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Devika Vaidya, Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

Bench: Amanjot Kaur, Sushma Verma, Sneh Rana, Sabbhineni Meghana, Meghna Singh, Renuka Thakur Singh, Anjali Sarvani

India women are likely to retain the same line-up as the team didn’t get to play the last game. Pooja Vastrakar’s return is very good news as she is very crucial with both bat and ball. This might turn out to be a very important game for Shikha Pandey who went wicketless in the last game which was her return to international cricket. It is also a competition between Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol in the middle order as Richa Ghosh is almost guaranteed to take one of their places in the side.

West Indies women possible playing XI:

Rashada Williams (wk), Britney Cooper, Shemaine Campbelle, Shabika Gajnabi, Hayley Matthews (c), Afy Fletcher, Shamilia Connell, Sheneta Grimmond, Shanika Bruce, Karishma Ramharack, Kaysia Schultz

Bench: Chedean Nation, Stafanie Taylor, Shakera Selman, Chinelle Henry, Aaliyah Alleyne, Cherry Ann Fraser

It has been a rather disappointing series for West Indies women as they have lost all their games. Hayley Matthews will be hoping to get a consolation and end it on a high. The ultimate goal is the World Cup and the Windies will be hoping to show some signs of improvement. They will have to play out of their skins to try and get the better of this India women side. All 3 departments have room for improvement which is what the purpose of the series is.
