(Cricket news) Naib, who was acquired for his reserve price of INR 50 lakh, will be playing in his first IPL season.

Due to a hamstring injury, Marsh was unable to participate in the 2024 Indian Premier League after just four games for Delhi Capitals. Marsh had returned to Perth on April 12th from India to confer with the medical staff at CA. Marsh would not be traveling back to India, head coach of the Washington Wizards Ricky Ponting announced at a Delhi event ten days later.

Ponting also said there that the T20 World Cup, where Marsh is likely to lead Australia, would not be an issue as Marsh continues his recovery and rehab back home. The World Cup begins on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.

Marsh bowled eight overs for just one wicket at an economy rate of 12.87 and scored 61 in three innings, with a high of 23, in the four matches he participated. Marsh’s services were terminated by Delhi Capitals in the middle of the second season in a row. At INR 6.5 crore, he was a high-profile signing, but in 2023 he appeared in just nine games for them.

Delhi Capital’s nine games have seen four wins, placing them sixth in the standings. Their next opponents are the Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
