Bumrah-less India for the 4th test in Ranchi

(Cricket news) The Indian team, on Tuesday reached Ranchi, the home of India’s world cup winning captain MS Dhoni, for the 4th Test of the series. Jasprit Bumrah was the major missing when the Indian contingent landed in Ranchi, suggesting that the star Indian pacer, in all likelihood will not feature in the 4th test.

Their were reports that Jasprit Bumrah has travelled back to his hometown on Monday. His absence now confirms that he has not travelled with the side and will be rested for the next game.

The decision of resting Bumrah would be taken in view with managing the workload of the pace bowler. He has been an integral part of the Indian set-up for the past few years, and given that a world cup is just around the corner, it is important to manage Bumrah to keep him fit and raring to go, when the team needs him the most.

Jasprit has bowled more than 80 overs in the first three tests against England and is also the leading wicket-taker of the series currently. The surface in Ranchi usually keeps low and favors the spinners more. However, His absence can have an impact on the Indian bowling given his ability to deliver on any kind of a surface.

Mukesh Kumar, the fast bowler from Bengal is likely to replace Bumrah in the 11. Mukesh was released from the 3rd test to be a part of Bengal’s last Ranji league game and will join the Indian side in Ranchi ahead of the test match.
