Noor Ahmad banned from ILT2O for an year

(Cricket News) The Afghanistan Chinaman bowler, Noor Ahmad has been imposed with a ban of one year from the ILT20. The ILT20 disciplinary committee has banned the spinner for a breach of the contract with his franchise Sharjah Warriors.

Noor was retained by the Sharjah Warriors for the second edition of the ILT20, but the Afghani spinner opted against signing his the retention notice and rather committed to his trade at the SA20 tournament, where he was a part of the Durban Super Giants.

Sharjah Warriors approach the ILT20 Committee following Noor’s denial to adhere to his contract. The franchise demanded for further action to be taken against the spinner. The disciplinary committee held separate hearings for both the player and the franchise before coming to a final decision on the matter.

Initially Noor was handed out a 20-month ban, but given that the former was a minor ahead of the first ILT20 season, the punishment was trimmed down to 12 months. He now becomes the second player to be banned from the ILT20, after fellow countryman Naveen-ul-Haq who was banned by the ILT20 for the same reason.
