Arsenal look to break 4 game winless streak as they take on Chelsea

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing period as they take on city rivals Chelsea
Arsenal

(Football news) Arsenal about a month ago looked well in control and on their way to the Premier League title. However, 3 consecutive draws against Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton followed by a loss against Manchester City have derailed their campaign. Now City are a point clear with a game in hand but Arsenal can reclaim the top spot with a win over Chelsea. The Blues are in a proper mess as they have lost 6 and drawn 2 of their last 6 games. Interim manager Frank Lampard has failed to lift the group so far. Things have to change otherwise Chelsea might get stuck in a relegation scrap.

Arsenal put all their eggs in one basket as they focused on the Premier League and somewhat neglected the other competitions. That made sense at the time as the Gunners had a very thin squad. However now that they are likely to finish trophyless despite playing so well this season, it seems like if Mikel Arteta played stronger teams in any of the three cups Arsenal may have ended the season with some silverware. Against Chelsea Arsenal will be without long-term absentees William Saliba, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Mohamad Elneny. Arsenal will have to show their mental strength to bounce back and put pressure on Manchester City.

Chelsea are in deep trouble and what better way to get out of it than to beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Chelsea will have to play out of their skin to pull off a result. Frank Lampard has a lot of players to choose from which is becoming more of a problem. Chelsea are still missing Kalidou Koulibaly, Armando Broja, and Marcus Bettinelli, while Kai Havertz is a doubt. Selecting a perfect combination is very difficult but Lampard will want to select one that makes Arsenal uncomfortable at the very least. A win will take them above Crystal Palace while a draw will get them level with a game in hand.
