(Football news) Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on top four rivals Manchester United on Thursday night, hoping to get back to winning ways after a humiliating 6-1 defeat against Newcastle United last Sunday. The result meant that interim head coach Cristian Stellini was sacked after his side conceded five goals in just 21 minutes at St James’ Park. As for Manchester United, they defeated Brighton on penalties to reach the FA Cup final where they will take on neighbours Manchester City.

In team news for Tottenham, goalkeeper Hugo Loris is a doubt due to a hip problem while Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Emerson Royal (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Yves Bissouma (ankle) are also unavailable. However, Lucas Moura has served his three match ban while Clement Langley and Ben Davies could also feature in the starting lineup. Pape Sarr is expected to be dropped and new interim manager Ryan Mason could revert to three at the back in order to not suffer the same humiliation as last week.

As for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes is a doubt after being photographed with crutches and a protective boot. The Portuguese midfielder could join Donny van de Beek (knee), Alejandro Garnacho (ankle), Tom Heaton (ankle), Phil Jones (knee), Lisandro Martinez (foot) and Raphael Varane (ankle) on the injury list. Scott McTominay will also be unavailable but Harry Maguire is back from suspension. Erik ten Hag is expected to go with Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof at centre back as they provide much more stability than the Manchester United captain.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:

Forster; Romero, Dier, Davies; Porro, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son

Manchester United possible starting lineup:

De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot, Eriksen, Casemiro, Sabitzer; Antony, Martial, Rashford
