Shamar Joseph ruled out of the ILT20

(Cricket news) The newest West Indies sensation Shamar Joseph has been ruled out of the ILT20 with a toe injury. He was clattered on the boot by a Mitchell Starc yorker on the third day of the second test against Australia. He was signed by the Dubai Capitals, but now will head home for his recovery.

Although scans showed no fracture, Joseph battled pain on the fourth day of the test to produce one of the greatest spells in the history of test cricket, as he claimed 7 for 68, leading West Indies to their first victory in Australia in 26 years. On the morning of the fourth day, Joseph was unlikely to feature in the game, but eventually ended up playing after taking doses of Painkillers.

Joseph had to join the Dubai Capitals post the Australia series, but will now return to Caribbean to properly recover before his next assignment, which is in the PSL where he will play for the Peshawar Zalmi.

However post his Gabba heroics Joseph said – “I will always be here to play Test cricket for the West Indies,” he said. “I am not afraid to say this live. There will be times when T20 might come around and Test cricket will be there, but I will always be available to play for the West Indies no matter how much money comes towards me.”
