(Football news) International football is coming to an end as the Serie A is gathering pace with some mouth watering fixtures this week. Napoli still are the only team in the European top flight to hold a 100% record and are sitting two points ahead of AC Milan, as for last year’s champions Inter, they will take on in form Lazio in a tough fixture.
Juventus take on Jose Mourinho’s Roma as both teams will look to win and put a statement to the rest of the league. Roma have already lost their only big match this season against Lazio and will be making amends against Juve, as for Juventus they are heading into the match with good form under their belt, having won three league matches back to back. Roma will evaluate Tammy Abraham as he suffered a minor injury when he was away on International duty, Juve on the other hand will be bolstered with the return of Paulo Dybala as he has stepped up his recovery.
Inter take on Inzaghi’s former club Lazio in a mouth watering top of the table clash, Sarri’s side this season have played attacking football which has left their defence a bit weak. For Inter the task doesn’t get easier as their South American contingent of Correa, Martinez and Alexis Sanchez will all be unavailable. Inter will most likely feature a new-look attack as Edin Dezko will be the only available striker, for Lazio their talisman Ciro Immobile will be fit enough to make the Lazio bench as he had suffered a small muscle injury.
AC Milan take Hellas Verona in a match which takes the Rossenari’s top of the tabe with a win. Stefan Poli’s side will have their task cut out as they have almost 7 first team players who are injured including their goalkeeper Mike Maignan, the manager will certainly make few changes to the line up as Zlatan and Giroud could make unlikely starts for Milan. A victory is very important if they are to maintain pressure on runaway leader Napoli.
Napoli take on Torino as Luciano Spalletti will look to keep this unlikely run alive, their task certainly won’t get easier as Torino have conceded only 8 goals which is the third fewest in the league this season. Napoli will most likely have a full squad available baring the injuries of fringe players like Malcuit and Lobotka. If Napoli manage to win their 8 matches in a row, then it will subsequently become their best start in the club's history.
The other fixtures to keep an eye out are:
- Venezia vs Fiorentina
- Empoli vs Atalanta
- Genoa vs Sassuolo
- Cagliari vs Sampdoria
- Udinese vs Bologna
- Spezia vs Salernitana
