(Football news) Nike has been named as Al-Alami’s new uniform supplier. After Al-Ittihad, they are currently the second Saudi Pro League team to receive their uniforms from Nike. The impact of Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in the Middle East is undeniable. The iconic Portuguese athlete wears Nike athletic apparel, and the company has made his boots for the entirety of his career. He has a stunning £147 million ten-year contract with the sportswear company.
Al-Nassr’s decision to Nike comes after neighbouring Saudi powerhouse Al-Hilal signed a five-year contract with Puma. Al-Alami’s uniforms were initially made by Duneus, but from 1997 to 2001 and from 2010 to 2012, Nike supplied them.
The 38-year-old Ronaldo’s January acquisition has enhanced the Mrsool Park team’s commercial appeal as well as the Saudi Pro League’s allure. Famous footballers from Europe like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Ruben Neves have chosen to travel to the Middle East with the Portuguese great.
Fans have claimed that the influence of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was a factor in Al-Nassr switching to Nike as their kit maker.
At Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo might soon be joined by David de Gea, the custodian for Manchester United. According to The Sun, Al-Alami has reportedly offered De Gea a deal worth up to £250,000 per week.
After David De Gea’s contract with Manchester United expired on June 30, the Spaniard is now an unrestricted free agent. He and the Red Devils have come to agreement on a new contract. The club reversed course over the terms offered to the custodian, substantially reducing the shot-stopper’s salary in their most recent contract proposal.
De Gea is currently a free agent because he has not yet ratified the new contract. He played alongside Ronaldo at Old Trafford for the past season and a half. However, it’s not thought that the 32-year-old’s first preference is to go to Saudi.
With 17 shutouts in 38 games, the seasoned goalkeeper took home the Golden Glove award in the Premier League last year. Many, meanwhile, have questioned whether he has what it takes to be the ball-playing custodian that United manager Erik ten Hag craves.
