India’s Fouaad Mirza ends dressage in ninth position on the leaderboard at the Tokyo Olympics

(Olympics news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: Indian equestrian Fouaad Mirza and his horse Seigneur Medicott finished the dressage stage in ninth position at the Tokyo Olympics. Mirza had accumulated 28.00 penalty points on Friday, tied seventh to Sweden's Louise Romeike and her horse Cato.

World Number 1 Oliver Townend of Great Britain with 23.60 points was toppled by Germany's Michael Jung astride Chipmunk with 21.10 points. After Austria's Katrin Khoddam-Hazrati withdrew from the event, Fouaad Mirza finished ninth in a 62-pair event while his coach Sandra Auffarth from Germany and an Olympic gold medallist finished 37th.

Fouaad Mirza’s next event will be Cross Country, scheduled for August 4th at 4:15 am where the horses will move to Sea Forest Cross-Country Course.
