MESSI’S SUPPORT ON BARCA’S ANNIVERSARY

FC Barcelona is having a unique year in 2024 as the Catalan team celebrated its 125th anniversary last night. Several club icons attended the elaborate ceremony held in Barcelona to commemorate this occasion.

The Blaugranes considered inviting Lionel Messi, one of the greatest legends in their club’s history, when this event was still being planned a few months ago.

The Argentine was unable to attend this gala last night for some reason, but as Mundo Deportivo has reported, he nevertheless thought of his beloved club and posted a message on social media honoring the Blaugrana club’s brilliance on this momentous occasion.

Messi’s ten-word message was straightforward but impactful: “Happy 125th Anniversary to the best club in the world.”

Messi posted a blue and maroon heart to symbolize his love for Barcelona along with this remark. He also included a number of pictures that captured the amazing time he had with the Catalan club.

Joan Laporta also paid tribute to the Argentine singer during his speech at the event last night, demonstrating that the love was reciprocated. Laporta did not hesitate to call him “the most decisive player in the history of Barça” despite his absence.

Even with the club’s lengthy history, Joan Laporta’s opinion is difficult to argue with. Having played for the team for almost his whole professional career, Lionel Messi has unquestionably been one of its most important players.

Messi made 778 official appearances for the Catalan team during this time, tallying an incredible 672 goals and dishing up 303 assists. Along with winning four UEFA Champions League wins with the Blaugranes, he has won an incredible ten La Liga crowns.

Messi and Barcelona are still in love, despite the fact that his exit from the team did not happen under ideal circumstances. This affection was once again evident at the club’s 125th anniversary.
