Alcaraz, Raducanu Join for US Open Mix

London –  Tuesday was a day of excitement in the tennis world as the mixed doubles lineup for the 2025 US Open was announced.  Tennis stars Novak Djokovic, Aryna Sabalenka, Jannik Sinner, and Naomi Osaka will grace the courts.  Among these giants, a powerful partnership emerges: world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz teams up with Emma Raducanu.  Raducanu, who was eliminated in the quarterfinals at Queen’s Club, will now compete with the Spanish sensation, who advanced to the second round on Tuesday.

“She will be the boss.  The US Open provided us the opportunity to play mixed doubles, and I’m quite excited.  It’s going to be fantastic.  I’ve known Emma for a long time, and we get along really well.  It will be intriguing,” said Alcaraz, still ecstatic about winning his second Roland Garros title.

Alcaraz shed light on their collaboration, saying, “The tournament informed us about the mixed doubles, and I believed there couldn’t be a greater partner than Emma.  I specifically inquired whether she wanted to play doubles with me.”  His remarks, dripping with eagerness, conveyed a sense of fraternity and competition.

Back about a year ago, Raducanu confessed to being attracted by Alcaraz’s recent court successes while on her recovery route following some medical challenges.  “I watched Carlos’ last two matches, and it’s a terrific way to prepare before onto the court.  “At times, I try to mimic his shots,” she admitted, implying a mutual adoration that has blossomed into this wonderful collaboration.
