(Football news) Only two appearances for the Red Devils this season hath the 28-year-old made; he became aware of the issue during the team’s Premier League opener against Tottenham.

Before the transfer window closed, Man United signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur as a result of Shaw’s injury and Tyrell Malacia’s absence following knee surgery.

Shaw has not been available for Man United’s last ten Premier League games or their four Champions League group stage fixtures. The left-back is back in training with the 20-time English champions, though, in advance of their Sunday lunchtime Premier League return match away to Everton.

“Manchester United have received a major boost ahead of the return to Premier League action, with Luke Shaw back in training,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Our cameras at Carrington have captured images of the left-back working with the main group, in advance of Sunday’s game at Everton.”

Shaw might not be guaranteed a berth in the team, but it would still be surprising to see him start against Everton right away despite his return.

The Red Devils will need to win this match in order to have a chance at moving on to the round of 16 of the Champions League, which takes place in Turkey after Man United’s match against Sean Dyche’s team.
