Luis Díaz to Welcome WC Champion

Liverpool is preparing for their League Cup final matchup with Newcastle, which is scheduled to begin this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Colombian time at Wembley Stadium. The team is led by Colombian great Luis Díaz.

Liverpool is keen to win the trophy in this game, which is their lone final of the season, before turning their attention back to the Premier League, where they lead second-place Arsenal by a commanding 15 points.

After being eliminated from the Champions League sooner than anticipated by PSG, the team is focusing on winning the Premier League and winning European championships as they start to make arrangements for the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool is trying to strengthen its team in light of this by pursuing another Argentine World Cup winner.  Sources claim that the Reds are interested in signing Julián Álvarez, who has been playing well for Atletico Madrid.

According to the English publication, the club has already started talking to Fernando Hidalgo, the player’s agent.  Given his rocky spell at the club, there are rumors that Álvarez may join Liverpool for a hefty price tag, possibly incorporating Uruguayan attacker Darwin Núñez in the transaction.

On the inside, he is thought to be Arne Slot’s perfect match.  He has an outstanding effort rate and is a facilitator and goal scorer.  Darwin Núñez is a very dynamic forward who could be included in the deal by Liverpool.  The article goes on to say that Diego Simeone is a huge fan of the Uruguayan.

Furthermore, it was believed that Liverpool had already made an offer to Manchester City for Álvarez prior to his move to Atletico, but talks for a trade involving Luis Díaz failed.

“Gonzalo Siegrist, the Reds’ senior scout for South America, had been advocating for the Argentine since his days at River Plate,” the article concludes, indicating that Liverpool’s interest in the player stems from his time there.  Last summer, Siegrist met with Álvarez to talk about a possible move to Anfield.  One of his best buddies off the field, Alexis Mac Allister, contributed to the hiring process as well.
