(Football news) Real Madrid initially made five pre planned signings in the summer. Jude Bellingham officially signed after long negotiations with Borussia Dortmund. Los Blancos triggered the buy back clauses of Brahim Diaz and Fran Garcia. They also signed La Fabrica graduate Joselu along with talented prodigy Arda Guler.

Thibaut Courtois’ ACL injury forced Real Madrid to sign a goalkeeper. The list of potentials included David De Gea, Hugo Lloris, Yassine Bono and Giorgi Mamardashvili but RMA ultimately decided to rope in Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spaniard was one step aqay from joining Bayern Munich but decided to go to Madrid after they came calling.

In Real Madrid’s first La Liga game of the season against Athletic Club, Eder Militao suffered an injury which was ultimately diagnosed as an ACL rupture. Militao and Courtois have successfully undergone surgery but it is still very unlikely that they will play this season. While a replacement goalkeeper has been signed Real Madrid have made no moves to sign a centre back.

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly happy with David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger and Nacho as the primary center halfs. Ferland Mendy, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Dani Carvajal are all capable of playing at the heart of the defense if needed. Castilla player Marvel is also seen as someone who can step in if needed.

Arda Guler and Ferland Mendy who picked up an injury in pre-season have started working on grass. Arda Guler also underwent a surgery but he should be back after the first international break. Carlo Ancelotti has been saying for a long time that Real Madrid’s transfer window is over but that might not be the case. There is still a possibility that Real Madrid signs a defender or an attacker.

The Kylian Mbappe-Real Madrid saga seems to be never ending. The Frenchman has come back into the PSG team and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already confirmed that Mbappe is committed to the club and he will stay for the season. However, one decent offer from Real Madrid can change things. Other than that a stop gap striker is also a possibility if an opportunity arises.
