(Football news) In the wake of Yann Sommer’s transfer to Inter Milan and Manuel Neuer’s injury, Bayern was actively searching the market for a replacement custodian.

Giorgi Mamardashvili, Kepa Arrizabalaga, David Raya, and David de Gea were among the names mentioned, but the Bavarians have chosen Peretz. The Israeli prospect will face off against Sven Ulreich for the position of Bayern’s starting goalie.

Since the beginning of the season, Ulreich has been the Bayerns’ first-choice custodian. He played in the DFL Super Cup final against RB Leipzig and the Bundesliga opener last week against Werder Bremen.

After developing at Tel Aviv, Peretz is now regarded as one of the most promising players in Europe. In all competitions last season, he kept 25 clean sheets for the Israeli team.

Following his outstanding performance in the 2023 U-21 Euros, when he was essential in helping Israel advance to the semi-finals, Peretz attracted even more attention.

The Israeli international won’t be able to play in the Bundesliga match against Augsburg this weekend, but he might be able to play against Borussia Monchengladbach.

It will be intriguing to watch if Thomas Tuchel inserts him in the starting lineup before Ulreich. With an impressive 4-0 victory over Bremen, the defending Bundesliga champions have made a strong start to their title defence.

new signature Harry Kane quickly established himself by scoring a goal and providing an assist.
