(Football news) Real Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of 16 year old Brazilian Endrick. The wonderkid will join Los Blancos in 2024 when he turns 18 years old. Endrick has signed a contract from 2024 to 2027 with an option to extend it for another 3 years. Palmeiras will get a fixed fee of €35M along with €25M in add-ons and bonuses. Real Madrid will also pay an extra €12M in taxes which makes the total signing worth a potential €72M.

Real Madrid secured the Brazilian’s signature by beating competition from Chelsea, PSG and most importantly Barcelona. Blaugrana manager Xavi publicly said that he hopes Endrick will join the Catalan club before confirming that he has held talks with his father. Various reports in Spain state that PSG, Chelsea and Barcelona are shocked to learn that Real Madrid have acted so quickly and completed the signing.

The credit will go to president Florentino Pérez and chief scout Juni Calafat for making the signing possible. Calafat has been the main man for Real Madrid for a long time having signed Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Casemiro, Fede Valverde, Martin Odegaard, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Takefusa Kubo. Perez used to be known for signing the best players and the biggest names in world football but now things have changed. Real Madrid have trusted in the youth and it has been working wonders, in both the phases Perez has proved that he is the best in the business.

€72M is a lot of money for any player let alone a 16 year old with very little first team experience. Real Madrid may have overpaid for Endrick but this method has been very successful for them. Considering the fact that other European giants were interested in him and even offered him more money shows that he is likely to justify the price tag. Real Madrid youngsters like Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr and Aurélien Tchouaméni are already starting to justify their price tags. It is definitely a risk but so are other transfers as no player is guaranteed to be successful.
