(Motorsport) McLaren is the latest Formula 1 team to reveal their launch date for the 2023 car with the MCL37 to be launched on February 13th, the same day as Aston Martin’s AMR23. The team will feature newcomer Oscar Piastri in the Formula 1 grid alongside Lando Norris for the upcoming season. While McLaren are yet to announce more details about the launch, they will undoubtedly hope to build on their fifth place finish in 2022.

It was a disappointing season for McLaren last year as Daniel Ricciardo was consistently outperformed by teammate Norris but both drivers and the team looked a long way away from rivals Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes. McLaren ended the season behind Alpine in the Constructors Standings and will hope that changes in the backroom staff with team principal Andreas Seidl being replaced by Andre Stella can pay dividends in 2023.

Unlike 2022, Formula 1 cars will not feature wholesale changes for the 2023 season but there are subtle changes to the cars such as increasing the ride height to avoid porpoising and improve team performance. The pre-season testing will begin in Bahrain on February 23rd and the 2023 season will begin in Bahrain at the Sakhir Circuit on March 3rd to 5th.
