Richarlison is set to join Tottenham for £50m from Everton

(Football news) Tottenham are on the verge of agreeing a deal to buy Richarlison from Everton. The striker is one of the key targets for Antonio Conte this summer as he seeks to add more depth to his attack, and negotiations over the transfer are close to being finalised. It has been reported that he has agreed personal terms with the club as both the clubs look to finalise the deal.

Everton have agreed a £50m plus £10m add ons fee with Spurs as no players were included in the deal. However, Bergwijn was mentioned in the deal but he is a target for Ajax and would prefer a move to the Dutch capital. The signing is a boost for Conte’s squad next season as Richarlison had played a major role in helping Everton stay up in the Premier League but now he wants to join Spurs and is keen to play in the Champions League. He has also been a Chelsea target for quite some time but they chose to move for his international compatriot Raphinha. There is a hope that Spurs and the Toffees will come to an agreement on the fee for the winger before the end of Thursday due to the Financial Fair Play deadline that Everton face.

Everton are facing Financial Fair Play issues since last season and the current time period to pay their dues ends on June 30. The two clubs came to an agreement over the fee for Richarlison before today and provided evidence that the agreement is done as the fee has helped them clear last year's FFP regulations. Personal terms were finalised with Richarlison as he prepares for a medical. He is currently on his holidays after completing his recent international duty with his country and would have to return to the UK to undergo a medical.

Richarlison this season netted 10 goals and had five assists in 30 Premier League matches for a struggling Everton side last season as he helped them avoid relegation. Spurs made the Brazil international one of their key targets this summer, his ability to hit the ground running in the league and also play anywhere across the front three will hopefully give Conte more options in attack and also support for Harry Kane in the striker role when required. Richarlison played up front when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was injured for Everton last season and he kept his place up front even when the England international striker returned from injury. If they do sign Richarlison then he will be the fourth signing of the season after Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Foster. If Conte can somehow make Richarlison play in a front three, then Spurs will automatically have the deadliest attacking trio in the Premier next season.
