PSG have agreed personal terms with Nordi Mukiele

(Football  news) PSG are attempting to secure the signing of Nordi Mukiele from RB Leipzig, this summer transfer window. Mukiele is said to be keen on joining the French Champions with an agreement between PSG and the player already done. A fee is yet to be agreed between the two clubs but it is believed that around €10m would be enough to see Leipzig sell the 24-year-old. New PSG boss Christophe Galtier has confirmed to the media that he is looking to add a player who can bring “versatility on the right side”.

If Mukiele is to make the switch then Achraf Hakimi’s future might be in question as Manchester United have reported interest in him and the player has been labelled a dream signing for new coach Erik Ten Hag. The right-back position has been an issue for over a decade now and Aaron Wan-Bisska was supposed to provide the answer but the ex-Palace man has gone backwards in his development since his arrival at Old Trafford. Hakimi would be a significant upgrade for Ten Hag, providing the United boss a world-class option in that position. If there is a chance to sign the Moroccan international then the United board should act on it.

Mukiele has already reportedly reached an agreement over the personal terms with the Ligue 1 champions, and Luis Campos had earmarked the versatile Frenchman as a priority target after arriving in Paris. PSG can supposedly expect to pay in excess of €10m (£8.5m) to sign Mukiele, who had previously spent nine years at Paris FC as a youth player between 2004 and 2013. Mukiele then eventually rose through the youth ranks at Lorient before joining Montpellier HSC in 2017, but he subsequently spent one-and-a-half years at the Stade de la Mosson before heading to Germany.

The France international has since scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 145 games for Leizpig, including two goals and five assists from 38 appearances last season. Mukiele also won his first piece of silverware with RB Leipzig last term in the form of the DFB-Pokal. The versatile 24-year-old could therefore provide stiff competition for PSG to compete for the right-wing back spot with Achraf Hakimi after Colin Dagba joined Strasbourg on loan. Mukiele can also provide backup to Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos and Presnel Kimpembe at centre-back, although Kimpembe is to be linked with a move to Chelsea. PSG this window have already signed Vitinha, Hugo Ekitike and Nuno Mendes has made his move from Sporting Lisbon permanent.
