Roger Twose appointed as New Zealand Cricket director

According to a Press release by New Zealand Cricket, the New Zealand Cricket Board has co-opted Roger Twose as the director and has appointed Steve Tew to the position of board observer.

Twose will replace Greg Barclay who was required to resign due to his election to the ICC chair.

Roger Twose represented Blackcaps for over 100 games and played for Central Districts, Northern Districts and Wellington along with several District Associations, giving him first-hand experience of the cricket community in New Zealand. Looked up as an important influencer within his era, he was a crucial member of the team that won the Champions Trophy in 2000 and was ranked as World 2 ODI batsmen that same year.

Steve Tew has served as the CEO of New Zealand Rugby from 2008 to 2019, having been Deputy CEO for the six years prior. The All Blacks and Black Ferns maintained their number one world rankings for a decade during his time as CEO of New Zealand Rugby and won multiple world cups. It was also a time of major revenue growth underpinned by New Zealand Rugby’s international broadcasting and team sponsorship partnership expansions. His rugby governance experience is extensive and includes the IRB, SANZAAR and the board of Rugby NZ 2011.
