Pace attack seeming to be the weapon for South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup

(Cricket news) The South African team has been one the top teams in cricket in the past two decades and has come a long way since its entry into the sport, but the Proteas have failed to win an ICC trophy since their 1998 Champions Trophy victory. This year at the T20 World Cup, South Africa has a strong bowling squad as they have speedy pacers as well as spinners to trouble the batters.

They are known to fall in the crucial stages of any tournament. They have reached the semi finals in the T20 World Cup in 2009, 2014 and are playing without their Captain Faf du Plessis as Temba Bavuma will be leading the team.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada is one of the young bowlers who can make an impact on the team with his bouncers and pace. He bowls around 140 km/ hour and can make the best use of the pitch in UAE, he has spearheaded the bowling attack for the team and uses his height to toughen the conditions for the batters. One of the reasons for his outstanding performance is his commitment to exercise and body care.

His nutrition and diet are a crucial component of that programme. In 2017 and 2018, he was ranked number one in the ICC bowling rankings for ODIs and Test cricket, respectively.

Anrich Nortje

Dale Steyn was the major speedster for the Proteas but after his retirement there is one person who can match the legend’s pace. Anrich bowls around 150- 156km/ hour, he has only played 11 T20 matches but has plenty to offer. Anrich will try to make the best use of his inclusion at the biggest stage. He kept shining in the IPL with his top speed, he holds the record for the fastest IPL ball and has been dominating the top speed list in the league in the past two years.

Lungi Ngidi

The young prodigy stands tall and adds more to the pacers in the team. He has picked up 36 wickets in 23 matches in T20 matches after making his debut four years in the format against Sri Lanka. Injuries have been part of his career but will look to combine with Rabada and Anrich to form a venomous duo.
