Vinicius Jr - Brazil Vs South Korea

It was absolute carnage at Stadium 974 as the Selecao got a dominant win to book a place in the quarter finals. Even though South Korea were completely outplayed, they never gave up and for them to reach the Round of 16 was a massive achievement. Brazil have further strengthened their status as the favorites and will now take on Croatia in the next round. Tite’s starting XI was as expected, he switched Danilo to left back as both Alex Sandro and Alex Telles were injured. Eder Militao was preferred at right back over the experienced Dani Alves.

It took Brazil just 7 minutes to take the lead as Neymar Jr assisted Vinicius Jr. The Real Madrid wonderkid became the youngest Brazilian player to score at the World Cup since Pele. Four minutes later, they won a penalty for a soft foul on Richarlison, Neymar Jr converted the spot kick. Neymar didn’t show any sign of an injury or a knock as he looked fit and sharp. In the 29th minute, center backs Thiago Silva and Marquinhos combined beautifully to assist Richarlison. Vinicius added an assist to his tally by setting up fellow Flamengo academy graduate Lucas Paqueta.

Brazil sealed the match at half time itself but they could’ve scored a couple more. In the 2nd half Tite’s menkept it nice and tight but South Korea didn’t give up. Substitute Seung-Ho Paik pulled a goal back with an incredible long shot but it ended up being just a consolation. Brazil’s link-up play was breathtaking to watch and the unity and the excitement in the squad was incredible. Every goal was celebrated with a dance and the Brazilians look to be enjoying their football more than any other team.
