(Football news) While Wolves are currently ninth in the Premier League rankings, the Sky Blues are ranked eighth in the Championship table. As appreciative as he is for all the accolades he receives for the work he is doing at Wolves, Gary O’Neil knows that things might turn around if his team doesn’t perform to their full ability.

Due to the team’s four Premier League wins out of six games, which have kept them within two points of seventh-place West Ham United, there are growing expectations for a surprise appearance in Europe.

Their latest success against Fulham came at a cost, though, as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Pedro Neto joined other key attacking players on the injury list, with it yet to be seen how Wolves will negotiate that double blow.

Wolves have enjoyed a welcome break from action since last Saturday to prepare for arguably their biggest game of the season having already come through three testing ties to reach the last eight of the FA Cup.

Brentford, via a replay, and West Bromwich Albion were defeated before Wolves battled their way to a 1-0 success over Brighton & Hove Albion in the previous round.

On paper, though, Coventry’s journey to the quarterfinals has been significantly more straightforward as they have defeated Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday, and Maidstone United.

For a Coventry team that is itching to get back to Wembley, the scene of their heartbreaking Championship playoff final penalty-point loss to Luton Town in May, playing against opponents from the National League South was the perfect match.

Although his club defeated Maidstone 5-0, they have suffered losses to Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion in recent weeks, so Mark Robins will not be very pleased with their performance.
