(Football news) Chelsea have already had two managers this season with both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter being sacked in the Todd Boehly era. Two clubs out of the Premier League’s so called ‘big six’ are now looking for new managers after Tottenham Hotspur sacked Antonio Conte. The name circulating around is Julian Nagelsmann, who was recently sacked by Bayern Munich despite doing well for the German champions with European football journalist Guillem Balague saying that the 35 year old could go to Stamford Bridge.

Nagelsmann is out of work for the first time in his seven year long managerial career after his surprising departure from Bayern Munich. The German manager rejected an offer from Real Madrid in 2018 and is now expected to be the frontrunner for any elite team looking to hire a new manager. While Tottenham Hotspur are linked to the 35 year old, Chelsea seem like the more likely destination, purely because of the squad that will be at his disposal, funds available for new signings and the fact that it’s a bigger club. Moreover, Nagelsmann is said to have a good relationship with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly which makes it even more likely.

Mauricio Pochettino is another manager who has been linked to both Chelsea and Tottenham. The Argentine previously guided Spurs to a Champions League final and has done well at Southampton, Espanyol and Paris Saint-Germain. He has been out of work since leaving the French capital and while there has been no official approach from either club, one can’t help but feel that he is more likely to join Tottenham than Chelsea due to his history with the club.

Luis Enrique is also another top manager who is available in the market. The 52 year old won a treble and a double with Barcelona during his three seasons at the club and is said to be open to a move in England’s top flight. One of the biggest names in football is Zinedine Zidane, who is also available as a manager.

The Frenchman is the second most decorated manager in European Cup history, winning three Champions League titles in his five years at the club and two Spanish titles. Zidane’s lack of fluency in English could prove to be an obstacle to take over Chelsea but nobody can deny his pedigree and experience, both as a player and a manager. The 50 year old has been linked back to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and the French national team.

Despite Antonio Conte being available, it’s unlikely he will re-take his old Chelsea job, having previously managed the Blues between 2016 and 2018. The Italian is a proven winner, having won league titles at Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan but is now expected to take a break from management, having recently recovered from a gallbladder surgery. Conte has seen close friends Gian Piero Ventrone, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Gianluca Vialli pass away in the past six months and might take time away from football for the foreseeable future.
