(Football news) Barcelona Femeni thrashed Roma Femminile 5-1 in front of 54,667 fans at the Camp Nou to progress into the semi finals of the Women’s Champions League. Fridolina Rolfo opened the scoring in the 11th minute while León Cebrián doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute.

Rolfo then scored her second in the 45 + 3rd minute while Oshoala put the hosts beyond Roma’s sight in the 46th minute, scoring the fourth goal. Barcelona Femeni’s fifth goal was scored by Guijarro Gutiérrez in the second half (53rd minute) before Annamaria Serturini’s low drive gave Roma a consolation goal.

The result meant that Barcelona Femeni will now face either Chelsea or defending champions Lyon in the semi finals. Having recently scored against Real Madrid, Swedish forward Fridolina Rolfo continued her fantastic form by scoring the opening goal in the 11th minute with a bottom right corner strike.

She then capitalised on Caroline Graham Hansen’s low driving cross after Leon’s 25 yard strike had doubled the home side’s lead. Barca scored their fourth through Oshoala who scored just one minute after the second half began, tapping in from Aitana Bonmati’s cross, before a header by Guijarro from a corner sealed their spot.

As for Roma Femminile, the visitors struggled to create meaningful opportunities and struggled to deal with Barca’s aggressive playing style. A powerful shot by Serturini was one of the few highlights from their performance while Camelia Caesar denied Geyse Ferreira a sixth goal in the final few minutes. The result means that Barcelona Femeni have reached the semi finals of the Women’s Champions League for five consecutive seasons.
