UNCHANGED SQUAD FOR HEAT CONTEST

Perth Scorchers have named an unchanged 14-player squad for their top-of-the-table clash with Brisbane Heat at the Gabba tomorrow.

(Cricket news) The Scorchers returned to their winning ways against Sydney Thunder at Sydney Showgrounds Stadium last night, securing a composed seven-wicket victory in tricky batting conditions. The result propelled Perth to second on the BBL|13 standings, three points behind the Heat with a game in hand.

Victory in all of their remaining games – against the Heat (10 January and 13 January) and Sydney Sixers (16 January) – would earn the Scorchers a third successive minor premiership and hosting rights for The Qualifier.  Perth will proudly wear Aboriginal Playing Shirt versus Brisbane tomorrow to celebrate the League’s First Nations Round, which ends on 11 January.

The shirt was designed by Linda Loo, an artist born in Corrigin and connected to the Ballardong and Whadjuk clans of the Nyoongar nation.
