2022 World Cup: Tunisia look for a major upset against mighty France to try and secure qualification

2022 World Cup France Vs Tunisia

(Football news) France despite all their injury woes won their first two games to secure qualification. Now they take on Tunisia who need a win to have a chance at qualification. The African country also need Denmark to beat Australia by a small margin or the best case scenario for them would be a draw. France could rest some of their regulars which allow them to test out some other options. Even with their 2nd choice XI France are favorites going into the match. They will definitely want to keep up the rhythm going into the knockouts.

After the injury to Lucas Hernandez in the first game against Australia, Didier Deschamps only have one natural left back in the squad- Theo Hernandez and he has played 167 minutes in the tournament. According to various reports Eduardo Camavinga has been training in that position and this match would be a perfect opportunity to try him. Outfield players William Saliba, Jordan Vertout, Axel Disasi, Matteo Guendouzi and Randal Kolo Muani are yet to play a single minute.

In the last World Cup when France had qualified after 2 games, Didier Deschamps started Steve Mandanda in goal and he could do the same now or he could hand Alphonse Areola his World Cup debut. Tunisia are yet to score a goal in this tournament but they have been playing some decent football. The main objective of Tunisia will be to make France uncomfortable. If Les Bleus are allowed to play their game then it will be curtains for Tunisia pretty early on.
