(Football news) Tottenham Hotspur have acted quickly to secure James Maddison’s signature. The club is entering a new era under new manager Ange Postecoglou and he himself asked for Maddison on priority. Tottenham Hotspur have been in turmoil for a long time despite some really good periods.  Their fans will be hoping that under Postecoglou they can strike some consistency and finally win a trophy. James Maddison is a great addition to the team because he offers something which none of the other Tottenham Hotspur players possess.

Ange Postecoglou is likely to deploy James Maddison as a number 10 behind the front three of Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski. That front four looks very good on paper but it still needs to click and the quicker it does the better for Spurs. Maddison’s creativity is something Tottenham Hotspur have been missing for a long time. At Celtic, Postecoglou played a pretty flat 4-3-3 but he will have to play a 4-2-3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur to get the best out of Maddison. Harry Kane’s future is uncertain but at this moment in time it is difficult to see Daniel Levy selling Harry Kane untill and unless an audacious bid arrives.

Tottenham Hotspur need to reinforce their defense which massively let them down last season. They have already signed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli. According to reports they are working to sign center backs Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba. As for outgoings, Harry Winks has gone the other way to Leicester City for £10 million. There will be a lot more activity at the North London club.
