(Football news) Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte were under a lot of pressure due to recent form. Antonio Conte was handed another blow before the visit to Crystal Palace as Yves Bissouma joined Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski on the treatment table. Oliver Skipp joined Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in midfield while Bryan Gill started for the 2nd game in a row. Ben Davies and Emerson Royale, who were starters before the World Cup, were once again left on the bench.

Tottenham Hotspur had a few good moments in the first half but they were on the back foot for most of the time. Palace were really putting pressure on the Spurs goal. The hosts were clearly the better side going into the break as Spurs were lucky not to concede. It all changed in the 2nd half as Spurs came out all guns blazing. Harry Kane on his 300th Premier League appearance scored twice in the space of 5 minutes. Matt Doherty who seems to have established himself at right back got the 3rd goal in the 68th minute. 4 minutes later Heung-Min Son got a long overdue goal to make it 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

Bryan Gill who was criticised after the last game and rightly so showed his quality at Selhurst Park with a promising performance. Spurs are currently comfortable in the 5th spot. The result couldn’t have come at a better time as it takes a lot of pressure off Antonio Conte. Tottenham have an FA Cup match against Portsmouth before the big North London derby against Arsenal. The January transfer window is open and Tottenham need signings to strengthen their squad.
