(Cricket News) South Africa continue to impress cricket fans in this Cricket World Cup as they have two consecutive 100+ victories, having a NRR of +2.360, and sit on top of the table. A second World Cup hundred by Quinton De Kock and an impressive bowling spell by Kagiso Rabada blew the Aussies away.

Australia won the toss, and they chose to bowl first. Mitchell Starc found swing early on, but that wasn’t good enough to et early wickets. Quinton De Kock carried his form from the previous match, scoring another flawless century in 90 deliveries.

Glenn Maxwell has surprisingly been the best bowler for the Australians in this World Cup. The ‘Big Show’ took the important wickets of Quinton De Kock and Temba Bavuma, bowling his full quota of 10 overs and having an amazing economy of 3.40.

Poor fielding from the Australians saw South Africa reach an impressive target of 311-7 in 50 overs, with handy contributions coming from Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Marco Jansen.

End of first innings: South Africa 311-7; Quinton De Kock 109 (106); Aiden Markram 56 (44); Glenn Maxwell 10-34-1-2.

The Australians did not get off to a good start as they lost three wickets in the powerplay. Steve Smith was not happy with his dismissal, as he felt that the ball was going down the leg side. Poor umpiring was a trend in the second inning as Richard Kettlebourgh gave the word for the dismissal of Marcus Stoinis.

Kagiso Rabada ran through the Australian middle order, putting the Australians in a difficult position to win. Mitchell Starc and Marnus Labuschagne had a steady partnership and kept the match running longer than it should have, but the South African bowlers put a stop to it, bowling the Australians out for 177.

End of second innings: Australia 177-10; Marnus Labuschagne 46 (74); Mitchell Starc 27 (51); Kagiso Rabada 8-33-1-3; Keshav Maharaj 10-30-0-2.
