(Football News) Al-Hilal has made a substantial £47m bid to secure the services of Wolves’ captain, Ruben Neves, in what would be a club record deal. The Portugal midfielder, whose contract with Wolves concludes after the upcoming season, is expected to finalize his move to the Saudi Arabian club this week. Despite interest from Barcelona, a transfer agreement with Ruben Neves has not yet been reached, providing Al-Hilal with an opportunity to present their lucrative offer. Ongoing discussions are taking place between the club, Neves’ agent Jorge Mendes, and it is likely that the 26-year-old will complete the transfer once he returns from international duty next week.

According to reports, Jorge Mendes, the renowned football agent, has played a crucial role in securing the deal between Al-Hilal and Ruben Neves. Al-Hilal has also made an enticing contract offer to Chelsea’s forward, Romelu Lukaku. However, their attempts to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid were unsuccessful, despite reportedly offering him a substantial three-year contract valued at £170m.

The proposed transfer fee of £47m for Neves would surpass the previous record fee of £40m paid by Liverpool for the acquisition of Diogo Jota in 2020. This substantial sum would provide a significant financial boost for Wolves, particularly during a transfer window where they must prioritize raising funds to address financial fair play concerns.
