(Tennis news) After two decades of competition on the ATP Tour, Roger Federer announced his retirement following the 2022 Laver Cup. Federer is regarded as one of the best players of all time after making a name for himself as the most illustrious player in the sport and winning 20 Grand Slam titles. Wimbledon has long been Federer’s favourite playing surface. The eight-time Wimbledon champion from Switzerland ruled the court for many years.

The 41-year-old recently made a suggestion that he will participate in the coveted competition given that the season’s third Grand Slam championship is just around the way. He accomplished this by making an arresting remark. The whole thing started when the Prince and Princess of Wales jokingly enquired as to who would like to play on the event’s grass courts. Federer reacted quickly, confirming the royal family’s enthusiasm, and told them to include him.

“Anyone for tennis?” The Prince and Princess of Wales captioned their post.

“Count me in,” responded Roger Federer.

The Slam confirmed Federer’s remark and volunteered to host the appearance after the former World No. 1s celebrated their membership in the All-England Club.

“Sounds great – we’ll host.” Wimbledon mentioned.

Even though he no longer plays competitive tennis, Roger Federer has been transparent about his life and revealed that he routinely monitors tennis results several times each day.

The 41-year-old was recently honoured in a touching event at the Halle Open, where he opened up to the media about his daily activities. The Swiss superstar got into some amusing details about his family life and revealed that he is accustomed to checking tennis results several times per day.

“I’m very surprised at how often and how frequently I check the scores, three times a day maybe, then, of course, all of a sudden, there’s days where I check out for like a week. I’m with the kids, and then I’m travelling, and I’m gone, and, you know, you forget about everything around yourself,” spoke Roger Federer.

The former World No. 1 acknowledged that his time spent travelling and spending time with his kids frequently leaves him with little time to keep up with the scores.

“But for the most part, actually, I’m really into it. I think there’s some great matches going on. I try to check some highlights reels more than watching games per se because my life is also a little bit busy, but I’m really entirely happy,” added Federer.
