Ricciardo is still able to perform at his best in the F1

As he works to get more comfort in his car, Daniel Ricciardo is still "absolutely" able to perform to the best of his ability in Formula 1. This is according to his boss at RB.

(Motorsports news) But after a more positive performance in the most recent races—which also happened to coincide with the delivery of a new chassis in China—RB has made it quite evident that it still has complete faith in Ricciardo’s ability to perform.

Laurent Mekies, the principal of RB team, is certain that eight-time grand prix champion Ricciardo is the appropriate person to finish the job, even though there is still some work to be done to help him feel more at ease with the way the vehicle handles.

Mekies responded, “Yes, without a doubt,” when asked by Motorsport.com if the team thought Ricciardo had the same potential as it saw during his F1 comeback the previous year.

Our mission is to determine the ideal automobile setup for each driver in order to maximize performance for both the driver and the vehicle, and we are achieving just that with each of our drivers.

Mekies believes that misfortune has played a greater part in Ricciardo’s lack of success this season than skill. Ricciardo has yet to score any points.

Although harsh results like his lap one exit in Japan and being hit by Lance Stroll behind the safety car in China have obscured hard results, he claims that development has been evident since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Mekies continued, “We were beginning to say in Saudi Arabia that we were seeing things that made us understand how to support him better.” “Well, the trajectory is quite good.

“We’re not quite there yet, and we have a few things planned for the middle of the term to assist him feel more at ease behind the wheel and make sure our vehicle best fits his driving style.

“However, seeing real progress like we did over [the China] weekend will undoubtedly give us a boost in confidence.”

While Ricciardo has been the target of criticism from the outside, Mekies claims that within the squad, all the team has seen from him is a will to overcome the challenges he has encountered.

He remarked, “Contrary to what may appear on the outside, he has been very focused, very calm, and very rational about it throughout this difficult start to the season.”

We examined the car’s limitations and the things he need to accelerate. You can complete some of the processes fast, but understanding them is necessary first. After you have a better understanding, you can take certain actions right away, while others will require more time.

“We certainly don’t stop here, but we have tried to check as many boxes as we could.”
