Rehan Ahmed returns back home due to personal reasons

(Cricket news) The English leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed has returned back home due too personal reasons. The young 19-year old’s first Indian tour has been cut short early after heading back from Ranchi ahead of the 4th Test.

England have decided against naming a replacement for the leg-spinner, for the last fixture of the series that is to played at Dharamshala. Rehan was with the team, training on the eve of the Ranchi test, but decided to head home.

Rehan has featured in the first three games of the series. He however wasn’t a part of England’s 11 for the Ranchi test, being replaced by Shoaib Bashir. He has picked up a total of 11 wickets in the series, including a six-wicket haul in Vizag. However, the young leggy has been rather inconsistent with lengths and has leaked some runs.

England head into the Ranchi test, in desperate need of a win to keep the series alive and make it 2-2 heading towards Dharamshala. They have played some good cricket throughout the series and would want to forget the defeat which they faced in Rajkot. The English middle-order needs to be amongst the runs in the last two games to give them a realistic chance of scripting history by winning a series against India in India.
