In an attempt to exert pressure on leaders Barcelona, Real Madrid will return to action tomorrow night when they prepare to play RCD Espanyol in La Liga.
For his part, Camavinga, a French international, has not yet played in a competitive environment this season.
This is in addition to the fact that the 21-year-old injured his knee during practice prior to Real Madrid’s matchup with Atalanta in the European Super Cup last month.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti stated during a press conference on Friday morning that Camavinga is slowly making a comeback.
As previously mentioned, in the intervening period, anticipation surrounding the former Stade Rennais player’s return has intensified even more.
Camavinga has diligently put in a lot of work and pushed the timeline for his comeback.
The French international was observed working out alone on the field today while the other members of his team practiced collectively in anticipation of tomorrow’s match against Espanyol.
The plan is for Camavinga to begin group training the next week and be prepared for the September 29 derby against Atletico Madrid, the local rivals.
That would imply that the midfield player would be unable to play against Deportivo Alaves the following week in addition to missing tomorrow’s match against Espanyol.
The French midfielder’s return to on-field training, however, is encouraging, and Ancelotti will be hoping to have him back in time for the derby.
