When Charles Barkley recently talked about his time playing in Michael Jordan’s famous Air Jordans, he admitted that although he thought Jordan was the best basketball player of all time, the shoes were quite uncomfortable.
“Dude, I played a game in his shoes. Barkley declared, “He is without a doubt the best basketball player to have ever lived.” However, I’ve never played in anything as heavy as them. I felt as though I was walking on bricks. When Barkley signed with the Houston Rockets in 1999, the game in question went occurred. It’s interesting to note that Jordan’s longtime teammate Scottie Pippen was also paying tribute to him at the time.
“I played in those heavy shoes for just one game, and if you could dominate like that wearing those bricks, you’re truly the GOAT,” Barkley said, praising Jordan’s skill despite the hardship. The open remarks demonstrated the two basketball greats’ intense regard and friendly competitiveness.
Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley have a long-standing friendship that has only grown stronger over time because of their competitive and lighthearted banter.
