(Football news) Real Madrid have won their 3rd consecutive game as they defeated Celta Vigo 1-0. All three wins have been away from home which makes the start even better for Los Blancos. Real Madrid were once again without long-term absentees Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, Arda Guler and Dani Ceballos, and Ferland Mendy. Carlo Ancelotti left Toni Kroos and Luka Modric on the bench once again as he continued with the young midfield diamond of Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde and Jude Bellingham. The signs are clear from the manager that the new era in Real Madrid’s midfield has begun. Kepa Arrizabala made his debut as Andriy Lunin dropped to the bench which was a little harsh.

Celta Vigo started the game at a very high tempo and they even managed to score in the 3rd minute via Jorgen Strand Larsen. However, it was ruled out by VAR for a foul on Kepa Arrizabala in the build-up. Real Madrid were unable to gain control of the game for most parts of it but Celta Vigo failed to score.

Vinicius Jr made an incredible solo run into the box which failed to materialize but disaster did strike for Real Madrid. The Brazilian star went down with a knock before coming back out with tapping on his thigh. He eventually asked to be subbed off which is very bad news for Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti after the game said that he is likely to miss the next game.

Real Madrid were struggling to create clear-cut chances but in the 66th minute, Jude Bellingham played a beautiful ball to Rodrygo who managed to win a penalty. The Brazilian stepped up to take it but Ivan Villar pulled off a brilliant save. Carlo Ancelotti was visibly angry and he explained after the match that it was because he wanted Luka Modric to take it. It ultimately didn’t matter as Real Madrid did get a goal in the 81st minute from a corner. Toni Kroos’ ball was headed by Joselu towards Jude Bellingham who glanced it into the back of the net.

Jude Bellingham was the Most Valuable player for the 3rd consecutive time. His Real Madrid career is off to a flying start and the €103M Real Madrid paid for him is already coming good. The next game for Los Blancos is at the newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu against Getafe after which there will be an international break.
