Real Madrid end pre-season with incredible 2-0 win against Juventus

(Football news) Real Madrid in their final pre-season game defeated Juventus 2-0. Carlo Ancelotti lined up with the same XI as the Champions League final last year which is also expected to be the line-up for the UEFA Super Cup final in 10 days time. Antonio Rudiger was on the bench and so was Aurélien Tchouaméni but both did come on after half time. Real Madrid saved their best for the last game of pre-season as it was by far their best performance. They dominated the entire match and Juventus couldn't get any sort of control in the whole game. Real Madrid will take the confidence from this game into the UEFA Super Cup final against Frankfurt.

Los Blancos were on the top right from the beginning. Vinicius Jr won a penalty in the 19th minute which was converted by Karim Benzema. Both the heroes of last season linked up really well once again. The midfield was magical as always while Dani Carvajal made a solid return after his minor injury. Carlo Ancelotti made changes in the 63rd minute and in the 69th minute,  Jesus Vallejo playing at his new left back position assisted Marco Asensio after some clinical build up play. Eden Hazard played as a false 9 and had a good game which is a really good sign. Borja Mayoral and Mariano once again didn't play a part in the game which signals that they are not in Ancelotti's plans.

Rudiger once again played as a centre back which could mean that Ancelotti may have already discarded the idea of playing the German at left back. Jesus Vallejo, who is reportedly willing to fight for his place played at left and got an assist. The Spaniard isn't a bad option to have to play in Copa del Rey games and during an injury crisis. Real Madrid had a lot of quality to bring off the bench last season and that has potentially increased this season. The Merengues will be looking to win their first trophy of the season in the form of the UEFA Super Cup but Frankfurt are also a quality side who can cause an upset.
