(Football news) After a 4-1 win against Al Ahly in the semi-finals, Real Madrid will take on Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup final. Al Hilal defeated Wydad Casablanca in Round and Flamengo in the semi final to make it to the final. Real Madrid are the most successful club in the competition with 4 trophies and they will be looking to win it for the 5th time. This is Al Hilal’s 3rd appearance in the Club World Cup and it is already their best finish as they were 4th in both their previous appearances. The match will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

The big news for Real Madrid is that Eder Militao and Karim Benzema have reached Morocco to rejoin the team. They wouldn’t have travelled all the way to sit on the bench but now the question becomes- who will be dropped? Dani Carvajal and Marco Asensio sat out the semi-final with minor knocks but they will be available for the final. Nacho travelled back to Spain for the birth of his child but he will be back for the game. There were reports that Thibaut Courtois could’ve also been available for the final but he has stayed back in Madrid along with other injured players Ferland Mendy, Lucas Vazquez and Eden Hazard.

Real Madrid’s semi-final against Al Ahly was much closer than the scoreline suggests. Al Hilal will punish any sort of lapses from Real Madrid which did occur against Al Ahly. The return of Benzema and Militao is a big boost but the rest of the players will also have to step up. In the final, Real Madrid will not only be fighting for the trophy but also for a much needed confidence booster. They are 8 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table and winning a trophy could prove to be the push that they need to get back in the title race.
