(Football news) The action is picking up as the Premier League season comes to an end. For the past five days, Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh has been in the UK experiencing the atmosphere at PL games, interacting with fans, and touring club training grounds to see the cutting-edge facilities used by PL clubs.
Ranveer Singh saw matches in the PL between Fulham and Manchester City, Leicester City vs. Everton, and Arsenal vs. Chelsea, before wrapping up his trip with a trip to the Emirates.
Ranveer spoke with Indian Leicester City supporters before the match between Everton and Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. They exchanged stories about their fondest PL moments, including the team’s title victory in Season 2015–16. Singh first greeted and thanked the supporters before paying his respects to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the club’s previous owner, at his shrine at the King Power Stadium.
On May 2, 2023, a late-night kickoff featuring the titanic battle between Arsenal and Chelsea was Singh’s final PL matchday. Singh, a devoted Arsenal supporter, was present at the Emirates to witness his team defeat Chelsea 3-1 that evening as a result of an outstanding performance by Mikel Arteta’s group.
Regarding his experience on matchday during this trip, Singh expressed his appreciation, saying, “It was magical to experience the atmosphere at the stadiums during the matches, as it always is. It’s a pleasure to see the best football players in the world in action, fighting for their teams while the packed stadiums cheer them on.”
Additionally, Singh mentioned, “I had a great time watching Arsenal’s convincing win over Chelsea at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta is doing something remarkable with the team, and it’s been impressive to see this young and talented squad in action”
Singh had the privilege of speaking with various PL greats while on his trip. At the game, he ran into Gilberto Silva and Per Mertesacker. Even more, Singh appeared on the Sky Sports Match Day programme at the Arsenal Stadium, where he had the opportunity to speak with Patrick Viera, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Cesc Fabregas. Along with Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah, Chairman and Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham, he also had the pleasure of watching the match between Arsenal and Chelsea in the CEO’s box at the Emirates.
Singh had the honour of meeting current Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, and Fulham winger Willian in addition to visiting several PL teams and meeting superstars. Carlton Cole, a former player for West Ham and the PL, was also able to meet Ranveer when he paid a visit to the West Ham training facility on May 3, 2023.
The PL Hall of Fame event was where superstar Ranveer Singh met PL greats Arsene Wenger, Rio Ferdinand, Petr Cech and Peter Schmeichel during his visit to the West Ham training facility.
Singh also talked about how being the PL Ambassador for India has given him unique opportunities as a football enthusiast. He expressed gratitude and concluded, “It has been a remarkable experience to meet some of the greatest players in football history. Being in the presence of these legends who have made such an impact on the sport is truly awe-inspixring. I feel fortunate to have the chance to learn from them and witness their passion for the game up close. My association with the Premier League has given me access to these exceptional experiences, and I am honoured to be a part of such an outstanding community.”
