Ramy Bensebaini is set to replace Raphael Guerreiro at Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund complete the free signing of Bensebaini from Gladbach as the club also confirmed five departures

(Football news) Borussia Dortmund are all set to sign a new left-back for next season. Fabrizio Romano claimed on Monday that Ramy Bensebaini has already signed for Borussia Dortmund and will join the club on the 1st July after he left Borussia Monchengladbach on free transfer. But on the other hand, Raphael Guerreiro will leave the club after 7 seasons and will be replaced by the Algerian international.

Fabrizio Romano stated that the ‘Gladbach player has already agreed personal terms with the club and has signed a new long term contract with the Black and yellow. Ramy Bensebaini this season has been one of the highest scoring defenders in the Bundesliga, scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist. The 28-year-old left winger has been capped by Algeria and trained with Belgian side Lierse SK before he made his big move to France and then made his way to Germany where he spent four seasons with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Raphael Guerreiro is leaving the club after 7 seasons as reports claimed that the Portuguese player was offered to Atletico Madrid but there is genuine interest from other Premier League clubs also. Dortmund have officially confirmed the departures of five players: goalkeeper Luca Unbehaun, right-back Felix Passlack, midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, striker Anthony Modeste and their wonderkid Jude Bellingham will also leave BVB and join Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old started off his career late as the Algeria international spent three years with Ligue 1 side Rennes before joining Gladbach in 2019 for a fee of €8m. Since then, he’s represented Die Fohlen in 113 matches where he scored 25 goals and produced eight assists. In an underwhelming season for Gladbach, Bensebaini was the only shining light for them scoring 7 goals from defence and showing his worth in the Bundesliga. He was by far the best left back in the league as Dortmund are replacing one attacking left back with another in Ramy Bensebaini.
