Klopp Hails Wirtz Signing: ‘This Is Great’

The dynamic former manager of Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp, has lavished his beloved Reds with plaudits for their amazing coup d’état in acquiring Florian Wirtz, a rising star in Germany.  In an interview full of praise, Klopp called the transfer “really, really fantastic” and wasn’t afraid to express how excited he is about what this means for Liverpool.

In classic Klopp manner, he couldn’t help but acknowledge Liverpool’s current dominance as England’s reigning champions.  “They had an incredible team last season,” he remarked, emphasizing the task of bolstering an already powerful club.  “But Liverpool did it.  Signing Florian Wirtz, a standout talent, is a fantastic decision.  I’m excited to see him in action.  “It’s going to be fantastic,” he said, seemingly hinting at the fireworks to come.

Wirtz, 22, joins Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen, where he helped the club finish second in the German Bundesliga.  His transfer, which is a spectacle in and of itself, is said to cost up to 150 million euros, including bonuses.  Wirtz is ready to wear the famed red jersey after signing a long-term contract.

When the Premier League begins on August 15 at Anfield, Bournemouth will be the first to face the champions.  Liverpool fans will be excited to see how Wirtz fits into the magnificent tapestry Klopp once created, and how he can assist the Reds win even more glory.
