Osasuna is not taking the RFEF’s Disciplinary Committee’s recent decision to reject their appeal about Iñigo Martínez’s eligibility for the match against Barcelona lightly, as they feel it was an improper circumstance. “Club Atlético Osasuna maintains that the player’s exclusion is not based on an agreement from the Royal Spanish Football Federation, but merely on a medical absence,” the organization claimed.
“Club Atlético Osasuna rejects the communication’s suggestion that the RFEF has a ‘hidden agenda’ to flout the regulation. The specific statement, which omits the phrase “allowing players to leave the concentration without imposing any limitations,” is the obvious and verifiable fact. The official statement on the RFEF website and the correspondence that Club Atletico Osasuna and FC Barcelona received on March 17 about the medical absences of respective players Bryan Zaragoza and Iñigo Martínez do not mention this.
“The verdict given by the Competition Committee just certifies the medical evidence provided by FC Barcelona without adding further specifics. Club Atlético Osasuna finds the medical conditions surrounding this case particularly crucial, considering that the player’s absence is indeed due to medical reasons and his speedy recuperation led to his participation in the league match,” Osasuna added, publicly challenging Iñigo Martínez’s ailment. The club has said that it will appeal to the Appeals Committee and is unwavering in its fight.
As of right now, everything is in line with a statement explaining the reasoning behind Osasuna’s continuous struggle. In reaction to the blaugrana club’s remark on the subject, the red-and-white team went one step farther and also blasted Barcelona. It is “unworthy of a club with the heritage of Club Atlético Osasuna” to voice concerns of possible fraud when it is quite acceptable to have significant reservations based on the circumstances reported,” Osasuna said, expressing their surprise at FC Barcelona’s remark.
“It is astounding that such a cynical and contentless comment comes from those who would do well to examine their own actions during the more recent history of FC Barcelona.” This is a frontal assault, and Barcelona is probably going to respond.
